Peter Gurney
Peter Gurney qualified in medicine at the University of Bristol, England in 1960.
He spent nearly six years as a medical missionary working amongst Muslims in Pakistan,
Aden, Ethiopia and Eritrea before returning to the UK to specialise in ophthalmology
and completed his training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. He is a fellow of
the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and of Ophthalmologists, and has practised as a consultant
ophthalmologist in the West Midlands since 1980, retiring from full time service
in 1998.
