Dr Russ Humphreys joins CMI!

Russell Humphreys

One of the most widely respected creationist scientists in the world today is, without doubt, Dr D. Russell Humphreys. A physicist with an impeccable track record in both his government research post at the prestigious Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico, and his later career with the Institute for Creation Research, Russ has been at the forefront of several major advances in creationist thinking.

Dr Humphreys has been a longtime member of the Creation Research Society and is on its Board of Directors.

He is perhaps best known for his pioneering work in time dilation as the solution to the starlight-time puzzle (how distant starlight millions of light years away could reach the earth within a 6,000 year-old universe), in addition to his important contributions to the breakthrough results of the RATE group in radiometric dating—and his co-labours in developing the model of Catastrophic Plate Tectonics.1 Dr Humphreys’ cosmological models have also generated some published predictions about the strengths of planetary magnetic fields; these were radically different from evolutionist expectations, and were dramatically confirmed by subsequent NASA measurements.

Many at CMI have also known Russ personally over many years as an incisive and discerning thinker, a delightful brother, and a man of great biblical and personal integrity. So we were delighted when Russ approached Creation Ministries International about joining our worldwide2 team in writing, speaking and continuing his valuable research. It is a particularly great encouragement at a time when solid, reliable creation outreach is under increasing pressure.
