Is Evolution a Religion?

01:1110 Apr, 2012

Many have said that creationism is religion based on faith and evolution is science based on facts. However, the word religion has been defined as 'a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe.' The theory of evolution is exactly that.

Evolution is a belief about what happened in the unobservable past. It is a belief about what caused the universe to come into existence.

It goes even further by commenting on 'purpose', or morality as admitted in an interview with evolutionist Richard Dawkins.

The interviewer asks: 'There's a large group of people who simply are uncomfortable with accepting evolution because it leads to what they perceive as a moral vacuum...'

Dawkins responds: 'All I can say is, That's just tough. We have to face up to the truth.'

Evolution clearly fits the definition of religion.
