Which came first Noah's Flood or the Gilgamesh epic?

10 Apr, 201200:55

In 1853, archaeologists found a series of 12 tablets dated to around 650 BC—the story of the hero Gilgamesh.

The Gilgamesh Epic has close parallels to the account of Noah's Flood and has led some skeptics to imply that the biblical account is a retelling of the Babylonian legend. However, there are major differences which give clues as to which account is more accurate.

In the Gilgamesh epic, the ark is a cube, a terrible design for rough waters. Noah's Ark was built to be tremendously stable.

The Genesis account came first, the Gilgamesh Epic is a distortion. Creation.com
